“In the first month after launch, Signature Appraisals received more job applications than in the history of their old site. Cause and effect? We think so.”
National Machine partnered with Signature Appraisals to completely transform their online presence. For phase one of development, we focused on two goals: a new site and an application to help them on-board all of the new talent they'd be attracting with their new site.
We created the app with the end-user (job applicant) in mind. Many of their users are 50+ and, according to analytics, run all types of browsers and devices.
Hands-Off
To accommodate their users, we chose a highly navigable, segmented form structure. The app guides users through the process and enables them to complete the application one part at a time, with the potential to save some of the application until they have all of their documentation handy. When the user has been approved and completes the on-boarding process, the system deploys emails to third party vendors who provide name badges, business cards and t-shirts, all with absolutely no intervention or manual effort by the Signature Appraisals team.

Dynamic
For most companies, static sites lower the cost of maintaining a beautiful online presence. However, some organizations have elements that change often. For Signature Appraisals, the constantly-evolving element is a map, which they update as they hire employees and expand their coverage areas. There wasn't a great off-the-shelf solution to fit their needs, so we made one using SVGs and built a simple editor so they can make changes. What you see on their map is real growth happening in real time.
Doing What We Love
The best organizations draw the best talent, and beautiful design inspires confidence. Signature Appraisals is the peacock showing its plumage, to attract the best new staff... (That metaphor got mixed.) We knew that when this site launched, it would make an impression with potential employees. We integrated a job application directly into their custom platform to handle the influx of new talent. According to the owner, there were more job applications in the month after launch, than in the entire history of their previous website.
